It will take a lot to get our agricultural activities going again. We are not completely clear on the costs yet, but roughly estimated, the amount of money needed will be in the range of between 80 to a 100,000 euros. If we scrape al our money together, including the compensation payment of the government and the financial aid that our friends and family have given, we can raise about € 25,000. That amount can be doubled to € 50,000 by subsidies that we, as a startup, expect to be elligible for. But even with a bank loan of say € 20,000, there still will be a gap of at least € 10,000. We need to find additional funding for that amount.
Some of the basic needs such as a watersupply, connection to the electricity grid are (almost) done and a number of ‘ordinary’ tools have been replaced. Yet a lot of specific items are still needed. The lists below are meant to give impression of what is involved in our vegtable and fruit cultivation and for our goat farming, though those lists are by no means exhaustive!
Agricultural tools such as rakes, shovels, hoes, heels, watering cans, tie-up stakes; a cultivator; chainsaws; wheelbarrows; seeds; a greenhouse for rearing those seeds before we prick them in; ….
Stables; storage for feed; tools for the care of goats such as brushes and a shear; halters or collars; drinking and feeding bowls in the stable; preferably stainless steel equipment for the cheese kitchen (eg a worktop with deep sinks), cheese molds, cloth, thermometer, press, racks; a cooled milk cooling tank (preferably mobile with a view to the future processing of milk from third parties); a milking table; scythe and hay rake; cooling system and moisture regulation for 2 ripening rooms and a water-heated ripening and curd tank.
